From LI to Buffalo, we're building a statewide coalition for better public transportation and more!

Riders Alliance is helping build a new statewide coalition fighting for all New Yorkers’ freedom to #GetAroundNY safely and reliably, no matter how they do it.

After decades of endless spending on sprawling highways that have trapped New Yorkers across the state in disconnected, polluted, car-dependent communities, there are now hundreds of billions in federal infrastructure funding available for states to undo the damages of a century of car-centric planning and afford every New Yorker from Long Island to Buffalo access to transportation options that can get them where they need to go regardless of age, income, ability, or their access to a car.

Our coalition is fighting to win fair funding in New York to enshrine our right to freely travel within and between our communities and actually meet the demands of our state’s ambitious climate law by diverting transportation spending away from wasteful road and highway projects and into safe, reliable, accessible, interconnected public transit, cycling, and pedestrian facilities for all who call New York home.

We’re excited to be a part of this emerging statewide coalition of New Yorkers fighting together to win universal access to the world class transportation options we all deserve. Learn more about New Yorkers for Transportation Equity and our vision for a future where we all have the basic freedom to #GetAroundNY.
