Calling on the Governor to adopt a #RidersAgenda

Riders gathered today outside the Governor’s office to call on Governor Hochul to adopt a #RidersAgenda in this year’s state budget. Expressing urgency for the need for dramatic and immediate improvements to transit service, riders asked the Governor to invest $500 million to cut long and unpredictable wait times while keeping the fair stable.

The #RidersAgenda calls on the governor and legislature to meet the needs of today’s riders and confront inequity and the climate emergency with a compelling package of affordable, frequent, and accessible service, including:

  • Stopping the fare hike for five years

  • Delivering subway and bus service every six minutes

  • Doubling the rollout of accessible stations

  • Confronting climate change by implementing congestion pricing ASAP
